| I was so glad to find this book again as I had read it to my sons when they were in grade school. This is a very fun book for children big and small! This was our very first Daniel Pinkwater novel and was the biginning of our lifelong love of his writings. Read this to your children - give it to them to read. ONE disclaimer - if they are already immersed in fantasy then they will have little appreciation of how subtly Pinkwater takes you from known to the absurd to the almost believeable. |

| This book would have been great in my college geology class. It makes learning about prehistoric creatures interesting and puts them into a simplified order to gain some general knowledge. I think lots of kids skip over the part between the big bang and dinosaurs, and this makes part of that time period exciting! |

| My son is 7, and autistic, yet he can read. We are trying to fill him with as much information as he will take in, and having books like DK's eye wonder/eye witness series definitely makes that FUN!!! They are informative, and yet keep his attention, and he'll sit reading it over and over! We got this for $4.99 at our book fair, a great deal since he hasn't been able to put it down! | A great little book about alligators. The language is geared towards third graders but with a little explanation this works well for smaller kids as well. It gives an opportunity to talk about very interesting aspects about alligators such as their life cycle as well as various adaptations that they possess. Of course, the ecological importance of these animals is also emphasized. All of this in conjunction with a series of beautiful water color illustrations by Arnosky. | I think this "We Both Read" series is great. Whatever mood my boy is in when bedtime rolls around - whether he's working with me or against me - this concept works. I read the (difficult) left page in each two page spread, and the child reads the (easy) right. Teamwork. And even though these make no mention of Power Rangers or Batman Beyond, these are my boy's favorites. Along with some math books from Singapore(sgbox.com), and a learn-to-read series called "Now I'm Reading" by Nora Gaydos, these books ... Read More: |

| My 4 year old loves this series of books from Suzanne Tate. It is a great way to teach them about nature while having fun, and learning to read at the same time. I learned a lot from these books also. |
