| The cover and overall outer condition that the product came to me was fair at best. I was surprised to see more highlights than expected. So many that you can hardly feel that it is now your own. I feel that the mistake fully lies upon me for not heading the warning about some highlights. | The Treasure Tree: Helping Kids Understand Their PersonalityMy 8 year old son had this book read to him at school by his teacher and he desperately wanted it for himself to read at home so of course I bought it from amazon (anything for him to read more)he has been reading the book every night before bed, it is a beautiful book with gorgeous characters who have different personalities that work together, it helps kids understand different kinds of personalities and become more tolerant of others. Loved it! |

We don't know of any other book except "the book of martyrs" that the Amish has out that puts Christian Martyrdom in such a sober and accurate light. | I did not like this book because of its huge emphasis on catechism. We believe that it's more important for children to "hide God's word in their heart" than it is to put questions & answers into a brainwashed program for kids. God's word is a "double edged sword" and if we can get it into our kids, God will do the job. Obviously, it's important to explain what the bible verses mean so that they can understand God's word that they are memorizing. Catechism is superfluous and this book overemphasizes it. |

| It's a common enough story for picture books. Kids band together, learn something new, and accomplish a common, feel-good goal.
And yet, it totally works in this book. It's not heavy handed. It's not overdone. It does have religious aspects (great for Christians, I'd think), but they're not so heavily stated that atheists and agnostics can't get in on it. I really recommend this one.
