| I have purchased atleast 20 copies of this book to give to friends or family who have recently lost a loved one. The beautiful illustrations of several of the "next places" are comforting to those grieving. This is children's book,but is very helpful to adults who are grieving the lost of a loved one. There is no referance to God or religion, only beautiful pictures of the sky and places where there is no pain, but only the love which had been given. It is very comforting. | I love this story and was planning on getting it for my daughter at some point- when I saw it as a board book I decided to get it right away! The book seems well made and has nice bold, vibrant illustrations. The only negative thing I noticed about it- and I noticed it right away when I received it- is the fact that it has pointy edges. | This Bible is absolutely wonderful. At the start of each book it tells who wrote the book if known and why the book is important. The text is written in plain English much easier for kids to understand (and myself). There are side texts with sugessted activities and additional explanation of significant stories. I LOVE this Bible - this is the one I read personally now myself and I don't know how I would get through Bible School without it! |

| I absolutely love this book! I cried the first time I read it and still do! What a gift from God, indeed, a child is and it is refreshing to talk about God's role in our childrens' lives. I have looked at and purchased many books in preparation for my little one, and this one BY FAR impressed me most. | Carol's book is heart wrenching. We have only one child also, and we have had to "lay our Isaac down" and trust that God will take care of our son. Reading Carol's book made me realize that I am powerless over some circumstances, but God is still in control. I have a feeling though, that this book would not be understood by those who are not Christian. The idea of trusting a God who would allow so much pain is hard for people to understand. | Like other reviewers, my biggest beefs with this book are the outdated illustrations and the "Thee/Thou/Thy" prayers. But our kids seem to enjoy the lessons, and the 4 year old can easily answer the questions. I know he's really taking it in because he brings things up and asks me about them days and weeks later. We do this book at dinner, and as soon as my husband or I have a clean plate, my 3 year old pipes up, "Read the Devotional!" This is a great introduction to the faith for any family. |
