| This book has good lesson ideas for descriptive writing; although, some of it is hard to follow and choppy. The recorded sound at the back of the book could be useful for some children, but I did not personally find it inspiring. I'd use it as a jumping off point. |

| My mother bought me this book when I was a little girl (about 6 or 7). At the time I was learning to play the violin, but absolutely hated it. I tried in various ways to tell my parents this...even going as far as to tell my mom when she was pregnant that what I really wanted was a cello. | First of all, I have to teach from this textbook for my seniors in a New Jersey city high school. Anyway, the pictures are lovely and there is plenty of appropriate questions and exercises for the students to do in class. Do I think it's worth the price or worth to be used in New Jersey high schools? | I read excerpts of this book to my at-risk secondary students and they really enjoyed hearing about how to make their writing more full of life. It really brought the writing process to their level and helped them internalize the importance of writing. |

| We like this book very much. It helps make Spanish practice/review easier...HOWEVER it is NOT for someone who does not know how to pronounce words in Spanish. I have taken Spanish from high school through college (unfortunately, I am not yet fluent), so my son is familiar w/ pronounciation. I could not imagine trying to educate a child with this book alone if they are not already familiar with Spanish pronounciation (or at least have someone available for reference).
