| I have checked out three of Brian P. Cleary's books at the library including "To Root, to Toot, to Parachute--What is a Verb?" and I am extremely impressed by how much fun they are to read to my 6 year old daughter. Cleary has written a bunch of books and I can't wait to read them all. I'm so jealous that they weren't around when I was a kid.

| I bought this book for my 18-month old son so he can communicate with me before he could talk. I had been taking ASL classes since he was 6-months and I found the book a good way to introduce it to him, reinforced with my own training. He mastered all the signs before the age of 3. He continues to enjoy reinforcing the signs he knows and I still sign to him now. |

| I am not knocking this book at all. It is an excellent book for the older kids group. I read several reviews that stated people bought it for thier children aged around 5 years. My son is 5 and he is as die hard about dinosaurs as any one I have ever seen. There are not enough pictures in this book. The content is a bit scientific for a 5 year old. | I get paid for writing reviews of children's books. Most of the books that I'm asked to review are art instruction books or picture books because I also am a freelance artist. I thought that I should read this book to make sure that I hadn't missed anything. However, the title is misleading. It is not really a book about "Evaluating and Reviewing Children's Books". When I click to search inside, it does show Contemporary Cursive, so I'm hoping that's what I get when I order this product. Contemporary Cursive begins all letters on the baseline, which is much easier for a child to learn. We tried scholastic, school speciality and some others but they were all pretty basic and our son finished them in no more than two weeks.
