| This is a simple book on the basics of music. It is so much fun to read. Levitin has written it in a style that is easy to follow and he has written about what all of us experience in our lives at one time or another. I gifted a copy to my music teacher and I have one for myself. What an amazing book!

| I just finished reading this book earlier this week and I must say that for anyone who has ever read a book previously on body language that this book will seem to be very basic...at first glance. The authors have crammed quite a bit of information into approximately four hundred pages and have done so in quite an entertaining manner. | The book came in decent shape. It was new as described but it's not printed on the same quality paper as the version published in the US. Everything else looks exactly the same, except the front cover says JAPEE on the bottom, which is the Indian publisher, I believe. The cover is not as durable and is made of card stock like paper that will crease and bend easily. The book was mailed in a plastic envalope with no hard shell protection. It arrived within a week. | I never get bored of reading all of the little quips and stories that appear in Uncle John's Readers....Makes you say 'Really?'. None of them boring, all of them surprising and fun to read. Nothing very long in the readers they are all fairly short features in each book. Easy to pick up and read just a tad, then put it down until you can read it again. Stories are not in specific order, so you can skip all around, pick and choose...it all still makes sense and is good fun.

| Having read a number of the WPA guides when I was younger, I had to say I had much higher hopes when reading this book and have to say that I found it to be all in all terrible. By and large it is a patronizing and sometimes overly sentimental viewpoint of the various states that offers no great insights into what makes them special or what maybe interesting about them. The WPA guides were written by experts in their topic states and gave us insightful and intelligently written essays about what made their states interesting and in their opinions worthy ...
