| This is our only potty book, so I don't know how it compares to others, but it's been a big hit in our house. We started reading it to my twin girls at about 18 months and it's now essential potty time entertainment. Their favorite part is confirming -- loudly -- that potties do not, in fact, go on your head or your feet. | We were sent this book by our pediatrician and it was very helpful to our 8-year-old. The reading level was easier than she is used to but she was able to identify with Andrew. The book normalized her issues (hiding panties, accidents at school) since she feels like she's the only one, no matter how much we tell her she isn't. There's a book about it! |

| My nearly three year old (mostly potty trained but still having accidents) loves this book, and his six year old brother loves reading it to him. They both think it's hilarious, and we always have to read it at least three times in a row. I guess I can understand others' objections to the book, but I watch my little boy easily identifying with the little potty training princess in her quest to master the potty chair. | I bought this book for my son 4 years ago. I fell in love with it and have bought it for each neice and nephew for Christmas ever since. It has great rhyming text and adorable illustrations. Tomie is a wonderful author/illustrator, and this is a fun addition to any collection. We like looking for the cat and dog on each page while we read, and now my son (preschool) likes to finish the rhymes, too. Very catchy, funny story! |

| This is not your typical potty book. It shows little people interacting with their potties in all sorts of ways -- rapping out a beat, choosing the perfect potty, bedtime rituals, toilet paper rituals, underpants. This puts a smile on the face of my five-year-old, and my three-year-old is *totally* absorbed. There is no story line, but you can make up a lot of story to go with the illustrations. Very nice! |

| If you want to start talking about potty training with your son, this is a good first book. It shows a few boys in diapers looking at a potty and trying to figure out what it is. Then it gives a basic overview of what to do when you go potty. The numerous images of boys may help your son see this is a normal thing all boys do.
If you've already started using the potty or your child knows what a potty seat is, this book will not be very useful to you. |
