The attached file for the "look inside" feature is absolutely the wrong one as of this writing -- 7/27/2008. I can't find a place to tell Amazon that. The illustrations on this version are unique. The pages are designed around inserted motifs and there are many, many unique full page illustrations. No matter how many other editions of Pippi you have, buy this one too. |

| I have always loved Mark Twain since reading Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer as a kid. At one point I had even memorized "The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County" as a seventh-grader in Catholic school. Twain has always held a sentimental place close to my heart, so when our book club chose to read and discuss A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court, I was all for it.

| we have very few babar books. he died so young, and his family cannot cut it. the later books are so bad that they're offensive. but this is the first and it works. the only sad thing about it is that babar was not brunhoff's brain child but his wife's and she has never gotten credit for it. she created the elephant as bedtime material for their children. he retold them well, and illustrated them as his children cannot but she should have been co-author at the very least! our kids love this book and the characters and ... | This is the 100th anniversary of L. Frank Baum's classic novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. This book has beautiful illustrations and the wonderful story of The Wizard of Oz. What more could you ask for? I'd describe how AMAZING this book is, but who doesn't know the story of The Wizard of Oz?? But the book is different from the movie. It is much more detailed and Dorothy and the gang make a few more stops on the way to see the wizard. | My oldest started with this series at 2, he will be 3 soon. He asks to be read at least one of these books daily. He insists on being Pirate Pete for Halloween and Mardi Gras. The stories are cute and he looks through his hand like a spyglass when looking for the Seafairy Sapphire in the Giant Adventure title. He is always engrossed in every page.
The illustrations are gorgeous. We can not wait for the next title. |

| My 2-year-old grandson loves this so much that I got hoarse reading it to him over and over again last weekend. He loves dump trucks and can remember every part of the story. It's a believable book. |
