| This is a great book for toddlers, as starting point for fire safety. It'd make an excellent tie in for fire safety day, when the fire department makes an appearance at their school.
From working with a group of preschoolers, on fire safety day, it became clear they were frightened. Though the firemen tried not to scare them, many still were. This book would've been the ticket!!!! |

| Maybe I am asking too much from a Level 1 reader. My incentive for buying this book was to inculcate my 5 year old son on the dangers of fire. Everything that I wanted like: How fire spreads, air is needed to sustain fire was not in the book. If you have a child who does not ask "Why" to everything, then this book would be OK. | My kids loved to have this book read to them again and again. They enjoyed pointing out all the naughty things that bear was doing. I think it also reinforced their belief that their own teddy bear ventured out and got into trouble when they were not looking! Now I am reading it to the grandkids and they are enjoying it just as much! This book is timeless! |

| I read this with my 3 year old son, and he adored it! We've had it out of the library at least 12 times, and have decided to buy our own copy. It is well-written and realistically-illustrated, with an emphasis on safety, rules and respecting the police. Mom figures largely, also! I recommend this to anyone with a child who is a motorcycle nut; the endpages have neat illustrations of the parts of a motorcycle! |

| My two year old grandson loves the book. His parents are smokejumpers and not only does he look at the book he also names the jumpers using his parents name but he also can count and repeat some of the words on his own. He knows the story well. He use to take his sisters book to his room all the time how he has his own. It gets used a lot. The book contains some inaccurate information in what the smokejumpers are doing. |
