| This is a great book! It is well written and the story line is very easy to follow. This book was one of three books that was required summer reading for my daughter's 6th grade class and she loved it as well. It gave her a different perspective on the different and most often times unfair treatment African American received during the 1930s. I strongly recommend this book to every young person to learn a few of life's lessons. |

| I bought this for my 4 year old and she absolutely loves it! It is really great for kids who have a million questions about how things work and it does a phenomenal job of explaining a typical process (e.g., building a house) from end to end (including laying sewage and water pipes underneath the ground). It gives the details that curious kids really want to know in a fun, darling way. |

| The book was very well written and you could actually put yourself in some of the incidents that happened through her life. It is very hard to belief that this discrimination happened in our country less that 75 years ago. Great read. |

| Although this fairy tale is a nearly thirty-year-old classic, it is still timely for girls. The book was a birthday present for a great granddaughter named Elizabeth, who loved reading a story about a heroine who shares her name. But the book pleased her even more because Elizabeth the heroine is smart and brave, and learns that sometimes handsome princes are just silly and not worth the trouble.

| I've read some of the reviews for this book that complain it is not in color. If you know anything about being an educational publisher, you know that they don't make a lot of money, and publishing in color is not a easy option. I think if you use this book, and work with the website that shows all the art in color ([...]), you'll be fine. This is an excellent book and well worth the price. | I came across this book when my wife found it on the shelf in a local bookshop.
She read it and encouraged our son to stop dancing around the bookstands and concentrate and read it. Although he prefers video games he loved it. I have read several of these types of books to them and I feel that this one has been the most effective. The book is written with an appealing age appropriate sense of humor and the illustrations are fun for them to look at. This book contains all of the important themes about anger but is presented in a way that appeals to kids.
