| This book was on my son's summer reading list, and I had to take a look. I was impressed with all that was packed into this book in a way that pre-adolescents can absorb and understand. Although the topics were tough -- a mother who leaves her young daughter as she searches for herself, and a grandparent's death, among others -- Creech treated the subjects with a fair amount of humor. | I'm an adult who thoroughly enjoys the fantasy genre. I had high hopes for this series because of the positive reviews. I decided to buy all three books at the same time because, when I get "into" a series, I really want to read all there is that's available as soon as I can get my hands on them.

| This book is good but a little long per page. Being a preschool teacher I look for fewer words per page and bright pictures. It had the pictures, just too many words. It did tell the children what they would be doing in preschool. |
