| The author of this book Natasha Wing does a fantastic job describing what a traditional Thanksgiving time is like before and after!!! It's is reminiscent of what Thanksgiving is like at my in-laws house! Both me and my children thoroughly enjoyed reading this book with me numerous times before Thanksgiving!!! |

But I turned to this book after reading other 10 sci-fi classics (in a row), including Ender's Game, Dune, and Brave New World... then as you may understand it obviously did not make the cut for me. But I'm sure it would be quite entertaining for any young sci-fi enthusiast who is looking for a light read. | My son was showing a lot of anger, and didn't want to talk about it. This book was a great way to approach the subject during a non-angry time. It's very helpful to get a third party involved so remotely. The book was written well for his age - some humor, comic book type pictures, and some ideas that my 8 year old found to be helpful. |

| In an effort to work my way through Newbury winner/honor books, I picked up the Wednesday Wars - and what a treat this turned out to be!
Holling Hoodhood reminded me of a combination of Holden Caulfield, Scout Finch, and Anne Shirley. There were times when I laughed out loud, and other times when I felt tears running down my face. | My almost 2 year old and I just love this book. We make up our own story to it (it doesn't have any words), and it changes a little bit here and there. But I like that because I can point out different aspects of the situation to her. I like that it shows the mom breast feeding and dad helping out since that is similar to our situation.
