| I am a teacher and I use this book to teach point of view, voice, and character studies, as well as visual clues and class bias. It can be enjoyed as a visually stimulating illustrated book for younger children and as a enjoyable and interesting learning exercise for older children. I enjoy and value this book! |

| I purchased this book for my about-to-be 4th grader. I liked the format of everything written in the first person-i.e. each of the four characters writes a narrative. The plot ended up being a little thin and the ending was a let down.
My biggest objection was the multiple uses of the word "sucks" and at least one "freaking" (as a substitute for the "F" word). Maybe it's acceptable for teens to use these words on a regular basis but I didn't feel it was appropriate for a 9 year old. I discontinued this ... Read More: |

| We bought this book for my son (2 years) when I was pregnant with our second child, who was born this past May. While I was pregnant, he wasn't interested in the book and gave a defiant "NO!" whenever I tried to read it- but once the baby came, it quickly became a favorite. My son has it memorized and will "read" it to himself and his baby brother. | I plan to get this for my sister who teaches 2nd grade, back East. I saw it in a local bookstore, and I know her class will LOVE it! A true tale of how wee ones do not like shopping! Illustrations are precious,and even adults can relate to poor little llama, who is just not in the mood to roam the aisles of a supermarket,when a nap is a far better activity! I love this book! | We received this book as a gift, and it is the best "baby on the way" book we have read. My daughter (almost 3) loves it, asks for it all the time, and has pretty much memorized it now.
My friend's little girl who is the same age, and also expecting a little brother, loves it too. It's nice how it emphasizes how the big sister can help, and how she is still special to mommy and daddy. Simple enough for a very small child to understand, and very positive. | This is a book I thoroughly enjoyed as a child. I began to borrow it from the library for my own two boys and decided, finally, to order one from Amazon for my son's birthday. We returned the borrowed book to the library the day before his birthday and there were many tears.
