| This is by far the best short treatment I've read on moon phases for kids. The illustrations and explanations are clear and understandable, and my five -year-old is able to "wrap his brain around" the idea of the moon rotating around the earth rotating around the sun...not the most intuitive concept around. In most other similar books I've looked at, they seem to assume you can already picture it in your head...this one adds the viewers' perspective in addition to the plantet's. Very helpful. |

| I enjoyed the first Fairyopolis and hope that my one year old daughter will enjoy them someday as well. I agree with the other reviewer that this series is an obvious rip-off of the Lady Cottington series, but the Spiderwick Field Guide is as well, and is absolutely adorable. | I first read this book when I was eight years old. I still remember the day that I checked it out of the school library. I couldn't wait to get home from school to read it.
I'm twenty-one now and this very book was one of the reasons I wanted/became a writer. My personal favorite of the stories is, The Green Ribbon. | Shel Silverstein's poems are always truly a delight. Some of the collections, however, contain poems that are not quite appropriate for the very youngest listeners. A Giraffe and a Half IS targeted at the youngest audiences.
