| I am a secondary literacy coach and I am always very concerned about having my daughters read nonfiction as well as fiction. These high quality books from Candlewick Press are an impressive series. The Read and Wonder books encorporate both excellent text and engaging illustrations. They are great read-aloud titles and I have used them in guest readings with my older daughter's preschool class. | My nephew (12mos) loves this book. He gets so excited by the music on the last page. The book has just enough text to keep the book moving, neat textures on the different dragons, and a really cute song when you open the last page.
The only thing that caught us a couple times was that the sensor on the last page is a light sensor, so if you think the battery is dead/dying, put the book near a light and it may be okay! |

| my daughter got this in her Christmas stocking and loved it. It is not the size of a regular coloring book, it is smaller so it is easy to keep in your purse, diaper bag, etc. |

| This is the third book we have of this kind. All 3 have been her favorites. This book has a bunch of animals in it and its colorful. I really like this book and my daughter does too. I would say this book and the others we have like it get the most use out of her book collection. Definately recommend |

| David McLimans, Gone Wild: An Endangered Animal Alphabet (Walker and Company, 2006)
While I admire the sentiment behind David McLimans' first childrens' book, I have to wonder at how up-to-date his information is. I wouldn't have thought to question it had he not brought up the spotted owl, that hoary old symbol of endangered species, which McLimans is quick to say is still in decline.
