| This is a wonderful bedtime story for young ones. The illustrations are nice and the pages are nice and sturdy.
Only very minor complaint is a couple pages have gold writing on a dark blue background and it can be a little hard to read unless the lights are on. But soon enough you will have the book memorized and it won't matter...a very cute and catchy nighttime story and certainly a keeper! 3 of my daughter's 5 favorite bedtime stories are by this author. |

| Since we have moved to the South from California, my 5 year old has been a little frightened of thunder and lightning. This book explains what creates thunder and lightning in language a child of her age can understand. I highly recommend any book in this series. |

| What a beautifully illustrated book! This was a wonderful book based on a true story. I used it with pre-schoolers and they really enjoyed the story as well as the beautiful artwork. I highly recommend it! |

| What a joyful book. A wonderful paeon to trees and the wonder they can inspire in kids, adults, the reader. A true arborial appreciation, delightfully rendered artistically by Marc Simont--I can see why this book won the Caldecott. It has aged well, and it carries an important message even today. |

| ISBN 2894332513 (5 stars) - This is now the third Disney version of The Lion King that I've read, I thought I'd found the best of them in 0307127923. I stand corrected with this one. Although it's small, nearly pocket sized, and it's one of those "novelties", with a pillowed hardcover, this edition is better than the rest (so far!). | I grew up with Eloise Wilkin's Golden Books so when I saw this collection in the store I was very pleased. I ended up not buying it at the time and when I went back a few months later they weren't carrying it anymore. I was so happy to find it on Amazon. I bought it for my 4 year old daughter's birthday and she has quickly made it her favorite story book. The illustrations, as usual are amazingly beautiful! | I am an adult but have read about 35-40 DK Eyewitness books in the past 15 months. I'm catching up with a lot of the science I never learned in school, and the illustrations and simple style that is easy for young readers to understand while not talking down to adults like me are invaluable in building my knowledge of these subject areas.

| I wish at least one of the other reviewers would have mentioned all of the religious references in this book. I was looking for a book that illustrates the changes of the season and helped my child gain appreciation for the beauty of the natural world. I guess I have to keep looking. |
