| I gave this book to a family where the Dad speaks Portuguese so he could read to his daughter - he loved it. The Mom also loved it too, because it helps her with her Portuguese. |

| Wonderful idea! You can pick a page or 2 a day and in no time you are learning Hiragana. Each page is short, graphic and catches your attention. It is also small and thin enough to slide into your backpack so you can get a mini lesson in anytime you want. I think it's a great way to begin learning Japanese. I got this book together with Jimi's Book of Katakana for a 1 , 2 punch. |

| This is the first year that my daughter is studying Spanish and she is totally lost using this book. Unfortunately, I am unable to help her because there is no English translation to any of the activities. It just goes into conversational spanish without teaching any basics whatsoever. There is an anemic little glossary in the back, but there are many translations missing. She's just struggling with a Spanish/English dictionary and it takes her forever to finish her homework. | If you're very image-oriented, you won't like this. But to read it is absolute fun. I should have chosen something with less text and more images as a gift for my young nephews, but now their Dad is reading it for them and they're enjoying it very much. That Nicolas is something! |

The pictures are colorful and fun. Each word is written in Hebrew and transliterated in English, making it easier for her to read and learn how the words are pronounced. | At first glance, this book looked great... pretty pictures and a decent collection of words, each with English, Chinese (simplified) characters, pinyin and a sample sentence in English, Chinese characters and pinyin.
But the pinyin seems to have been done by a VERY stupid machine rather than a Mandarin speaker. | I had this book when I was a little girl and loved it!! (It was published a year after I was born so it's been in my heart for a while).
