| My nephews love all the little polar bear series by Hans de Beer, and so do I. Great illustrations, he meets animals that he makes friends with, and a nice ending. I'd can recommend them all.

| I think I am slowly becoming addicted to Clare Bell books. She is someone who has somehow made the concept of prehistoric kitties absolutely brilliant. This is the second in her series of "The Named" and is a thoroughly fine adventure of her feline heroine Ratha. Ratha and her clan are strugging to keep up their new life using fire until they are challenged by a newcomer who has other plans for the fire. | I've always liked Bill Peet's work ever since I was a young girl because of his very zany style that he had inherited from his days at Disney's Studios. His illustrations in his delightful books for kids are quite elegant and humorous as well and he also had a poetic talent for creating animal fables all about lessons taught in a certain character's life. | This book is OK. I gave it 3 stars because it does get played with. My baby loves turning pages, so she really doesn't care what is on them. There are not many pages (I think 6 total), so she gets to the end pretty fast and tosses it aside. The graphics are lacking, too. The book is basically pictures of wooden alphabet blocks stacked on top of each other and one lion king character somewhere on the page. It would be better if each page had only 1-4 letters on it with a picture of something that started with ... Read More: |
