| If you are a complete beginner, as I was when I bought this book, be prepared to find yourself speaking and understanding before you are halfway through.
I think the reason this book is so effective is the amount of practice, exercises and examples, that it holds. Filling in the spaces is somehow very satisfying, because the lessons leave little doubt that you're doing it right. | In looking for a way to promote bilingualism in our 1/2 American, 1/2 Austrian family, I bought several German/English tapes. This one is used by far the most often. The songs are catchy, fun and educational in both languages (numbers, days of the week, alphabet, animals and more). My daughter has been listening to it since she was six months old and still loves it. I haven't tired of it either. |

| I'm sad to say that this course will be of no use to those wanting to learn Slovene. The aim of this review is to illustrate its shortcomings and suggest improvements that could be made.
Problem 1 - no accents This problem alone is enough to render the book almost useless. In Slovene, any syllable of a word may be stressed. | I was disappointed with this CD. Neither I nor my two year old daughter enjoy the songs. She does not seem to be learning any Spanish because the words in the songs are spoken too fast for her to understand and no translation in English occurs during the songs. The details stating the CD is for all ages was very misleading. The CD is definately for older children who already have learned Spanish and use the songs for review. Also, the CD only had eleven songs. I found other Spanish CDs more enjoyable for less money with many more ... Read More: |

| I found that the cassettes and book started out slowly and well but then became extremely difficult around the 3rd and 4th chapters. For example, in the 3rd lesson on tape, the dialog was taped with a lot of background noise (realistic for the restaurant setting). This makes it very difficult for a beginner to understand the new words! The beginning spent a lot of time on phonemes and the alphabet- both very helpful. |

| What I was really looking for was a basic German instructional CD to play in my car and hopefully learn German. This does not go over the pronounciation, and it also doesn't follow the instructional manual that it comes with. It moves too quick for someone who is trying to learn Basic German. Not a good buy. It came in perfect condition, the seller listed it well, but the content of the product is not what it promised. |

| When I first started learning German over 2 years ago, a native speaker recommended to me the Pronounce it Perfectly in German set to help me pronounce more like a native (I have since been told by native speakers that my pronounciation is flawless). Now that I'm taking up spanish again (it's been 6 years/since I studied it in high school) I have purchased this Spanish version and I like it very much. The Bad: *too little is recorded on a single tape *everything is rushed with many grammar notes, and long lists of vocabulary(and again, they dont record a lot of it either) *no conversations at all.
