| As an elementary school teacher i know that things for children are a good, simple way for people to start learning; even "older" adults. I have been correct. I also like hearing the language from both children and adults as my husband and I will be spending six weeks in italy with families. I plan to pass this along to friends that want to review their past italian language skills. The workbook also provided good review and learning. It's been fun. Ciao. |

| I have been learning English for 5 years and thought my vocabulary was more or less good, but...reading this book made me realize that my vocabulary is really poor. I am happy to have this book! I really liked the part where it explains the common usage errors, such as common and mutual, former and latter, fewer an less, that and which etc. I feel much more confident now when using these words. | Ok, not the greatest story ever, but a really good book to get a reluctant (reader) 7-year-old baseball fan to read. My son and I take turns reading every other page. And I like the message of this book -" ...try, try again" or "practice makes perfect" - something along those lines. |

| This was the first chapter book I ever read by myself. It was a great adventure. It is about a family of black pioneers. I was sad in the beginning when I read that the Muldie boys' Mom had died on their way west. When they made their first friend out west, and learned to make a dugout, the story began to get exciting. My favorite part was when they made friends with a group of Native Americans. Later, the three Muldie boys traveled over a hundred miles on their own to find their father on his new homestead. | I have "Learn in Your Car French" and "Learn in Your Car Italian" in earlier versions (when the French still used francs and the Italians still used lire). In those older versions, it's hard to tell when a CD gets to the last lesson and begins to repeat the first lesson. In this new version of "Learn in Your Car German," it is very easy to tell, because each CD begins with music.

| I started using this book to learn Slovak with NO prior knowledge of neither Slovak nor a Slavic language, and I found it excellent. I've read other critical reviews, and I simply don't agree. Midway through the book, I went to Slovakia and people were amazed at how I spoke Slovak with almost perfect grammar and little accent, I learned everything from that book.
Someone mentioned something about that they didn't explain verb conjugations, and I think that may be because there are so many irregular verbs that it would have been useless ... Read More: |

| I read this book in elementary school. It really happened: the story of the volcano Paricutin. A con of the story is the simile, "the volcano smoking like an old man smoking his pipe" and smoking is bad for us. A better simile would have been, "like a dragon breathing fire" or something. |
