| This is a French language program that my teenagers actually like. The vocabulary is perfect for them - about music, concerts, friends, likes and dislikes... Teens learn the masc. and fem. word-endings through words such as idiot-idiote, parfait-parfaite. We have enjoyed our commute with this one and just ordered level 2 for the summer. Hopefully publisher will read this and get level 3 ready for the fall. The music background is perfect! |

| I found the cassette and phrase book well organized and easy to use, and especially appreciated the fact that the people on the cassette speak everyday Hebrew. It is a "phrase book," but I would have liked a little more in the way of grammar, and a more extensive dictionary, but overall I found it to be very useful. A word of caution: if you don't know any Hebrew at all, you need to put in a bit of time familiarizing yourself with the pronunciation guide and the way the book works, and memorizing ... | This book is excellent for topics like linking and ellipsis, and the way unstressed vowels are pronounced as one of our two minimal vowel sounds. It also can be flipped around and used as an outstanding, if not essential, supplement to most pronunciation texts. I'm a biased teacher in that I think pronunciation books tend to over-emphasize sentence stress, which learners can pick up naturally, rather than discrete sounds, which they generally cannot. |
