| I agree with most comments in all other reviews especially "gwilym". I have been using the book on and off for a few years while I am trying to learn the language. I too, wish to learn the Bosnian variant, and find that the book is definitely more "Croatian" in its use of vocabulary. However, considering the disolution of Yugoslavia is still fairly recent and not many newer books exist, I was very glad to have use of this book. | Though the book might be factually correct, a good program also needs to hold the readers' interest. The book itself is black and white, the dialogue stale and unmoving, and there is very little opportunity for listener/speaker interaction. I also speak German and French, and the best way I learn is by incorporating four basic points: listening, reading, speaking and culture. The book offers the first two, but is nearly devoid in the last. I can't imagine using the majority of the conversations in real life. I ... Read More: |

The text works systematically through all the vowels, double and triple vowels, and all the consonants, explains how they differ from English sounds, shows in drawings how to place your tongue for each of the sounds and then brings 5 or 6 Italian words as examples. The speaker pronounces each of those words, you repeat after the speaker, then the speaker pronounces them a second time. | It is true that this set is not for those who are completely unfamiliar with the French language. It is important that the adult (parent or teacher) have a basic familiarity with the French language. That said, this set is a real value. | Very catchy and upbeat songs. I lost mine, and miss it, so I'm buying it again. It was even good for me as an adult to refresh on the vocabulary- as my children learn them.
