| This is a cute book and my 3 y/o likes it, but I was expecting it to be more like, well, a dictionary. Some pictures have no definition at all, just the word above it, and many of the definitions are along the lines of "babies do it" for the word "cry" It's also illustrated by PD Eastman, not Dr. Seuss.
So all in all, if you want another Dr. Seuss/PD Eastman book, you'll be pleased, but if you're thinking, "Hey! A preschool dictionary, how cool!" you'll probably be disappointed. |

| I really thought this might be fun to try with students, but it came terribly disappointing. It has little more than a coloring book. You could get some flash cards and use your creativity and come up with way better than this. |

| The ideas are great, but the pictures and text did not hold my children's attention (ages 3,4 &7). My children love books and enjoy almost everything we read, but they did not even want to finish this one. I bought it because it was recommended by John Rosemond, but I was disappointed in it. |

| I bought this for my son when he was 6 years old, and he LOVES it. He's had it at least a year, and I still will find him re-reading it. He already had an interest in humor & jokes, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to give him some new material. |

| I remember these books from when I was a kid, and when I read them now I still conjure up the same not-quite-right images. The fun illustrations and simple text remind us all what it's like to be a kid in a grown-up world. My toddler loves these books because they're silly, and I love them because they give me a chance to be silly, too. |

| I bought this book for my 18-month old son so he can communicate with me before he could talk. I had been taking ASL classes since he was 6-months and I found the book a good way to introduce it to him, reinforced with my own training. He mastered all the signs before the age of 3. He continues to enjoy reinforcing the signs he knows and I still sign to him now. |

| I love the Scholastic Children's Dictionary however this thesaurus is not a compliment to that item. There are not enough synonyms offered for each word and there are not enough root words. Horrible. |
