| We bought this book hoping that we could find some funny, kid-friendly jokes that we could share as a family. Most of the jokes in this book are not funny. We have to flip through lots of pages to find one good one, and what is worst is that it is organized in a way that doesn't make sense and is redundant. Every joke is in call and response format for example, "Bessie: Why does Santa have a garden?, Jessie: I don't know. Bessie: Because he likes to ho, ho, ho." I don't see why we need 170 pages ... | I only wish I had known about this book when my children were little. This is an excellent book for teaching manners,using lots of unusual situations. The repetition of "what do you say dear" will engage small minds and is a great book for reading aloud. My daughter teaches 1st grade and is using it with her class, who seem to enjoy it also. |

| This book clearly deserves more than five stars, and is one of the very best Dr. Seuss books for beginning readers. The only thing that's missing are the rhymes!
