This book did a perfect job for me when I was a boy. And I'm buying it to hand to my sons. Those who say it was too graphic are simply WAY too uptight. It is tasteful and honest. It did the job for me that my parents couldn't do.

This, the second book in the Harry Potter series, is better than the first, but not as good as the others. But that is just my opinion. In this book, Harry is beginning to wonder if he belongs at Hogwarts after a series of unfortunate events. I won't say anything else, exept that the series is a must read.

I read this book in college for a children's lit class. I was not impressed. It is a melodramatic look at the evils of drugs. It reads like a bad after school special, created to frighten teenagers and warn them never to experiment with drugs of any kind. Also, despite the lore following this novel, it was not written by a teenager. Read the novel if must, but there are definitely better books out there about drug usage.

This series is so addictive. I started reading on a recommendation by a friend. I thought it was cheesy-sounding but it's not immature at all. I loved this series and I'm now reading the 4th in the series, and I've read 238 pages in 2 days. I'm going to be so sad when it's over!

Pinkalicious is one of my daughter's favorite books. I had to get her Purplicious! I was expecting so much more from this book. The tone was completely different and overall the book was boring. Oh well, you win some you lose some!

My almost 2 year old and I just love this book. We make up our own story to it (it doesn't have any words), and it changes a little bit here and there. But I like that because I can point out different aspects of the situation to her. I like that it shows the mom breast feeding and dad helping out since that is similar to our situation. She loves it and I have seen her mimic it (holding the baby, helping get diapers/wipes, etc.) with her brand new baby cousin - without being taught or asked! She just saw the new baby and did ... This book was clearly written in a different time. Apparently, the only warning that Little Critter had that he was getting a new sister was on the *day she came home*. That's not realistic to how most children today are raised!

It does show a normal, if somewhat idealized reaction to a new baby - Little Critter can't show her his favorite toys, but he *can* let her pull his finger.

I was a little disappointed to see the presumably newborn baby left alone in a crib with a bottle - my nieces were always held when ... Read More:

I have a lot of respect for a writer who can take holes, lizards and onions and create an incredible story.

This book was amazing. It held my interest from the very first page. The characters were lovable and interesting (I particularly liked Zero), the plot was fast paced and engaging, the writing style was easy to read and follow. I felt like I was there with the boys digging all those holes.

Once again, kudos to Louis Sacher for creating such a great thought provoking novel out of such a random concept. ... Read More:

This book is my favorite out of the first four. The reason I like the fourth book the best is because it has the most details. For example J.K. Rowling described the dragons that Harry fights against very well. She does it well because she uses examples skin color and various things like that. Another reason I like this book the best is because it has a lot of action. One example of action was when Harry had to fight a giant spider. Another moment of action was when Harry had to fight the dragons. Also there was an example ... Read More:
