| this story is about a boy who loves words. he collects words and saves his favourites and he's ostracized because of this and comes to a point where he's left home and a man stumbles upon some of his words and makes a poem out of them. he then decides it's his purpose to spread his words around the world. at the end he meets a girl named melody and the narrator says if ever a word comes upon you it's because of the boy, and if you feel like singing it's because melody's with him.

| I have used this book prior to potty training 3 generations of boys in our family. I introduce it about 6 months before I think each child will be ready for training. The kids love the story and the fact that the pictures are anatomically correct! They carry the book with them wherever they go and eventually "read" it to themselves.
This book is not a toilet training method or an end unto itself. I think it is best used to prepare children for the idea of using the potty. As a parent educator, ... Read More: |

| I totally adored Long and Shannon's original book, and by golly this is definitely a worthy sequel! Jeremy Jones seems to be up to a fairly ordinary afternoon keeping an eye on his sleeping baby sister. But then, aye, those crazy, loveable pirates return to dig up their treasure in order to buy a new ship. But those pirates are loud and soon the baby is screaming. | I love Prisoner of Azkaban. I think that this was the novel that really hooked me into the series. I have a hard time writing a literary review of any of the Rowling novels mainly because I do not feel like I'm reading a novel when I read these books, I feel like I'm on vacation. I'm transported into another world and forget to look at the subtext or deeply analyze anything that the writer is trying to say because it is just to much fun to just read it. | The whole book can be summed up as "How Camilla Cream learned to stop worrying and love lima beans (again)".
There's a girl who is entirely too preoccupied with what other people think, and she pays for it in a spectacular way, with "stripes" being a disease that makes your body change based on what people around you say. It's kinda funny, too. I do think, though, that it's a little old for my niece, even though she enjoys it. It's very wordy, and the moral may be a bit advanced for her. ... Read More: |
