| The earlier two books in the series Cool Stuff 2.0 and How Cool Stuff Works were much more informative and had a plethora of cool new techy gadgets>
This book is not in the same genre though from the same stable - there are big exploded parts of objects as diverse as an Airbus aeroplane to a coffee percolator - I was probably expecting stuff on how it works which is missing. | Cool stuff 2.0 is an awesome book.Before I never knew about inflatable buildings or talking toilets.It really dose have a lot of Cool Stuff!But also does a great job explaining how it all works.I think that this book deserves a definite FIVE stars! |

| Byron Barton's Trains has become an unlikely favorite for our 2-year old. I say unlikely because it's so different from what most of his favorites (which are heavy on Sandra Boynton, Jez Alborogh, and the Spot series) are like. The art is extremely simple, using lots of bold colors, and the story doesn't rhyme or feature any noticeable repetition. It's not really even a story at all, but rather a descriptive sentence on each page highlighting the kind of train or activity shown.

| The beautifully DK illustrated books have always been winners. This one is especially good for kids over seven and also forces them to read to find out what's pictured. It's a book that can be read over and over, lots of good interesting stuff is explained. |

| We are currently building a house so this book has been the perfect companion to this process. My little boy (two and a half) is able to make connections to the pictures in the book to what is going on in 'real life' with his house. If you are building a house and have a small child, I highly recommend this book. |

| I have a four year old son that is obsessed with cars, race cars, and boats. The Eyewitness series has been an amazing introduction for him into the technical and historical background of the objects that he loves. I would venture that some portions might be difficult for him to grasp, however he still listens with rapt attention and is able to ask intelligent questions. | I had a wrong view about the school bus series - I just didn't like the school bus always being in the books and shows and then Ms. Frizzle wasn't my favorite character. So, I never really watched or read one of these movies/books.
We got this book at a yard sale and my 4.5 year old loves it. I like it too - I learned things I didn't know. Just don't expect to like Ms. Frizzle - she is a tool. Of the author! |
