| This book is a compilation of scholarly articles/essays by different authors. As such, it's not very consistent. Some segments were very insightful and interesting to read, while others were confused, off-base, or just plain inaccurate. | The stories of enjoyment and excitment people have written about really struck my fancy. When the Harry Potter series first came out i thought 'Its just another kids book' but when my class was forced to read the first book Harry Potter and the philosephers stone i just had to get the rest of the series. I rate this book 100 out of 100. |

| Better learn Russian before reading this book. This is real Russian, there's no little helpful boxes in English saying "this word means this". It's translated for Russians, not Americans pretending to speak Russian. |

| Connie Neal's book was written before the last book of the Harry Potter series. She can easily and confidently update it now that the series is finished and the truth is even more obvious. I was skeptical about a Gospel connection since I had given credence to the bad press on J.K. Rowling's use of witchcraft before I actually read the series. (I am very ashamed of that now.) | Stephen Fry is reading the "original" English version (before it was translated to US English) and his voiceings are wonderful. I have both the US and UK versions and really do prefer the UK version. |

| I bought this book to help me learn a set of new vocabulary that you just can't find in text books. I've had two years of Japanese language study, and this book is very difficult for my level. However, I find it gets easier as you make flash cards for study and continue reading.
My only qualm with the book is the artwork - it's horrendous. I expected it to be fascinating since this book is so widely acclaimed but it looks like they gave a 12 year old a pen and asked them to scribble something quickly. |

| Now I didn't read most of the book. I'll admit that right off the bat. I picked it up because I wanted to see how long it would take to reach the most ridiculous of comparisons and how far off track they would go. Well at one point I couldn't stand it so I shut the book. But seriously, from what I did read and know is that by the end of the book you will realize that it should have been found in the fantasy fiction section more so than the Harry Potter books themselves.
