| I just can't get enough of Dan Savage. He draws us into his life and paints a picture that is intensely interesting and surprisingly relatable. You can't put this book down. He's just such a skilled writer! His writing is perfectly conversational, yet, thoughtfully and intelligently written. He does a very nice job at mixing memoir with personal life philosophy.

| Who am I to review this man's writings? Still, it's fun to be asked to share my ignorance. Many books, by todays' authors, are touted as being hysterically funny, etc. Unfortunately, for me, I find that although I am said to have an excellent sense of humor, these fall rather flat well before the end of the stories.

| I have come to really enjoy this writers works; however, I was very disappointed with this one. I could not wait for this book to be over.
Right from the beginning I was captivated. The tsunami hits then Hayden rescues Erin and two young children. The writer takes you on their adventure and obstacles until they finally get help. The story has come full circle from the questionable first meeting of Takamiya and Izumi, and the slow and steady bond built between Aoe and Naoya, to show us the events in the past which shaped what would allow for these beautiful relationships to finally find fruition.
