| This is my first novel by this ? foursome (is this true--there are really four authors--no thoughts about too many cooks etc...?) Anyhow, as one who lives in New York and lived through 9/11 and its immediate aftermath, the story does capture the fears and the neuroses that such an event had on most New Yorkers and Nick's fear of buildings, tunnels, the subway and life in New York was rather accurate. | This was an interesting novel, not the fact that it was about a gay couple, but because of the magic and all kinds of things like that. It was an interesting read and I liked it. I'll have 2 check out more novels by this author in the future, and I do recommend this book. Although it was my 1st by her I enjoyed it. |

| This is hands down the fastest, funniest book ever written.
There were times when I laughed so hard, so often it made me dizzy! If you love Chris Moore or Nick Fowler this is a natural for you. A tender coming of age book that features a brilliant albeit mismatched group of true friends and the families who damage them as only those who love you the most can. These characters are so vividly fleshed, you will be dreaming about them. Humor is definitely the cure for whatever ails us all. |

| All I can say is I loved every single thing about this book. After the first few pages I was so engrossed in the story, I couldn't put it down! All the characters are so lovable. Even though they have their own serious issues, you can't help but want the best for them. W.A. Hoffman is a very talented writer and I'm so glad I discovered these books. JUST BUY THE BOOK!!! | Unlike Terry Castle of "The New Republic", I'm not convinced that Nabokov used Carol and Therese's trip in "The Price of Salt" as a template for the extended "vacation" that Humbert Humbert and Dolores Haze took in "Lolita". If he did, he expanded it in richness and depth about a thousand-fold. "The Price of Salt", while no "Lolita", is an interesting (and unusual) work in its own right. | A big fan of Gerri Hill's writing, this reader was a little disappointed in this particular book. It lacks full character development and has an anemic plot. That said, I am comparing this offering to Hill's other work when I give it 4 stars instead of 5. If I were rating it on its own, I might give it 4.5 stars.
My partner and I both read this one in the same week. Both of us had a similar, slightly-disappointed reaction to the story. It's not all gloom and doom. Jay is a wonderful character on the surface - I just wish she had been written more ... Read More: |
