| This book may not be the best choice for very young children, as it is rather long (it takes about 25 minutes to read aloud), and they might lose interest. I loved this book as a child, and was not disappointed to re-read it as an adult. This tale of mutual understanding and shared compassion and friendship is very satisfying. | I love these books! Toad is innovative and problem solves his way through. If you have any of these books pay attention to the yellow duck, it becomes a game to my son to find the duck! This whole series is great for all children from 18 months to beginning reading. | My daughter has recently been very interested in reading. She's always loved being read to and was very content with that. She just turned 4 and suddenly it became her life's purpose to read. So she picked out this set and Mouse Has Fun at the bookstore. We went home, followed the instructions, and that night she "read" all 8 books to me. | We found this book at the local library. The sentences are very clear and simple. Both the illustration and story inside are simple and beautiful. Even adults can find pleasures in this small but great book which shows you how to overcome loneliness and make friends with your neighbors and even with the nature. | This is a charming book, my husband read this aloud to our 6 year old and we all enjoyed hearing the updated version of the classic story of The Frog Prince.
The story was sweet and funny and the language was amusing. I don't know how well I would have done with it if I had been the reader, but my husband really got into it...the frog prince has a bit of a speech impediment. | Calling all elementary teachers looking for a cute book on compound words! This one is great. I've created a work center aound the book where children make a flap book to show each word in a compound word seperately and illustrated then together as one word then illustrated. | If my kids don't ask me to read a book over and over, then I know it's no good. My little ones rarely choose this book for bedtime reading time. When I do read it, they are barely engaged. I do not recommend it. |
