| I bought this for my 9 year old daughter and decided to read it first. I am happy to say it is a great read. Meg Cabot paints a beautiful picture with words that drew me in. If you want an interesting story which is totally age appropriate this is it. I will be buying the second book "The New Girl" as soon as I can. |

| This was an interesting book, because I'm not a big fan of Reed Brennan. Brian shows her in this book as having a lack of self esteem, needy, overanalytical and too depending. She has no morals and Reed Brennan is very vain. Always thinking that things have to do with her, when sometimes they don't. Brian really frustrates me with this series, because she makes Reed out to be this unrealistic character who had to endure two murders, cheated on her "rich and hot" boyfriend and hooked up with her powerful ... | And we're back to genuine Andrew Clements style writing! What a relief! I didn't feel like Ray and Jay got all that much characterization in, this may have been avoided by having only one main character, but *shrugs*, can't complain. I liked the resolution, I was under the impression that both boys would be in much bigger trouble, and their parents' threatening was pretty funny. | My husband and I originally purchased book 1 of the Franny K Stein series in hopes of striking an interest in reading with our six year old daughter; it worked.
