Mattimeo is the son of Redwall's champion until a dirty, no good fox kidnaps the little folk of The Redwall Abbey. They sent a search team out to find them. There are a few battles along the way. | While I cannot claim to be able to read this classic work in the original German, I share many of the other reviewers' frustrations with regard to Talcott Parson's English translation of it. First is all the passages from other authors which are left in the original French, Latin etc. and which the average anglophone reader today will be hard-pressed to decipher. | Last month I ordered 3 of these 3 different times for myself--and gave 2 away as gifts. I've not read the whole book, and ideally I should before I speak. Yet Drs. Blackaby have been helpful to many people for many years. As I've read some of the daily devotions, they seemed to be the product of years of studying the Bible and of walking with the Lord. | Asterix and Gaul is apparently the first in the series, written in the 60s. An absolutely fantastic start, i have to say.
A Roman Centurion, Phonus Bolonus, plots to get a swig of the magic potion and holds Getafix captive in the Roman camp outside the village to have him make some. Asterix joins the druid there and together they take the greedy Roman on a hairy ride. |
