Well what can be said. I have read this book more times than I remember over a period of many years. Published in 1997 perhaps it is no longer necessary to give another review. But some books form a bond with your mind and the author and the story become part of you. Iris Chang's story "The Rape of Nanking" is just this kind of book. | the essence of Hobbes critical thinking and evaluation is commendable except that the book is extremely difficult to read because it is in Old English. As a result I only read a couple of chapters that really interested me. I feel its effectiveness would be greatly increased if someone would render the text into modern English and republish.

| Marjane did a unbelievable job at capturing the reader not only visually but emotionally. This book along with her others (Persepolis 2 and Embroderies) were captivating and real! I have recommended this book to everyone I know that loves to read and some that don't and they all loved it. |
