| This is a very colorful book. There are some design flaws, some text is difficult to read and the text is more suitable for a 1-2 year old, the illustrations are well done and my 2yr. old son is entertained. |

| Okay, I cannot figure out why I bothered to buy this book in the first place. Despite the fact that I live in Utah and have not spent a heck of a lot of time near the ocean, I have a weird fear of sharks.But guess what? Plenty of other people find them plenty cool! | Marguerite Henry is one of the best animal story authors I have ever read. She has a smooth, flowing style of writing. Her books are generally true to history and often based on real stories. They are easy to read but still suitable for both adults and children. In this book she really appeals to all animal lovers, male, female, young and old. | The graphics and images are compelling, and it's loaded with facts. I used this book to enhance a science exhibit for K-8, and all ages learned interesting things from it. For younger or less confident readers, each 2-page spread has a different topic, so it is easy to read a bit and then put it down until the next time. I thought it would be watered down for the older children, but was pleasantly surprised that it had plenty of depth for the older ones. |

| Cute book. I liked all the info except it talks about what temp. to keep your fish tank at.......and I used it for a preschool students. Way over their heads.

| I used this brightly illustrated, jingly retelling of the three little pigs with both my baby group and my 2 to 4 year olds, and it was a big hit. I had some fish finger puppets that I just stuck on my fingertips, poking them above the top of the book as I read it, and on the other hand I slipped on and off a big bad shark. Very fun, very cute! |

| My 3.5 yr old son loves this book. It tells a condensed version of the Finding Nemo story, and his favorite part is the last page where "Nemo loves his dad and his dad loves him." My son gives me (his dad) a special hug. |

| I have scoured our local library and purchased 5-6 children's books on fishing from Amazon -- this one ranks very near the top ("H is for Hook" also get's high marks for illustrations and condensed version of text, and "Gone Fishing" is a nice read from a father/son narrative perspective).
I have to admit that after reading the editorial reviews I was a little afraid the author would be a bit snooty (the whole Yale Angler thing) and too trout obsessed (previous publications for adults) -- but this book is very ... Read More: |
