| Sandra Boynton does it again. She knows the routine, she sets it up perfectly and bedtime is easier because of her efforts. Our kids and grandkids loved these stories in a poetic rhyme. Now we are giving them out as Godparents to our neat friends we help mentor along life's way. Wonderful books! |

| Like many others, I had this book as a child. I loved the story then and I still love it today. Reading it was one of my best childhood memories. I know my original copy was at my dad's (the house where I grew up), but after his move a few years ago, it hasn't been seen. I think it's still packed up and I'm bound and determined to find it. I'm thrilled to find it here because I wanted to get it for my step-son. I know he's going to love the story as much as I did. |

| I recently re-read this book since my son has to read it for English class. Even though I knew the entire plot, I still couldn't put it down. It was just as fresh and exciting the second time around. The characters are so marvellous you can't help but want them to succeed. I remember that when I read it the first time, I told my mom that I would never be able to look at rabbits the same way again. She told me that the book was really about people. | I purchased this book many years ago for my oldest daughter who is now 37. When I asked if my grandson had this book, she said no, but then began to recite verses she remembered from the book. She was so excited to know the book was being sent to my grandson. They enjoy reading together in the evenings. It's a fun book, easy to read. One your child will remember for years to come. | We purchase books from Scholastic frequently and were shocked when we read these to our children. We had a sense of trust that the books our children get from Scholastic, through their classroom, promote valuable ideas of diversity and cultural understanding. We feel that these books failed to meet that expectation.
To put it more bluntly, these books are racist. The author is exploiting a demeaning stereotype of Mexicans and we refuse to perpetuate this stereotype for our children. The rhymes are silly, but the ... Read More: |

| Seton is pretty well known for his observations of crows. How many words they use, for instance, some are in the story. He watched this particular group of crows for many years, a task made easier because of Silverspot's silver spot. Silverspot's group could tell the difference between someone with a folded umbrella and with a gun, behaved quite differently for the difference.

| This is apparently a classic camp song - not one I ever heard growing up, though.
My nieces request this book a *minimum* of once a week (and usually, once they request it, they want me to read it over and over again to boot!), and we love it every time. Then they often want me to help them reenact the story - I'll be the bear, then they'll be the bear, then the teddy bear will be the bear....
