| It's really interesting to see such an imaginative story put together in a such a beautifully designed book. My son loved it and asks me to read it to him nearly every night. The characters are adorable and the pictures are unique. It's everything I'd want in a child's book. |

| My daughter loved Madagascar 2, so I thought this book would likewise hold her interest. It's cute, but contrary to my expectations, it is not a story with a plot and a beginning and an ending -- rather, it's a yearbook or encyclopedia of the characters in the film, each page featuring a different animal and including an inset titled something like "How to succeed in show business" or "how to hang with the hippos" or "how to survive in the wild", each with four or five bullet points tips. | My students in Japan, ages 1 and 2 years old, LOVE this book. I was really surprised. I thought the paper-cut-out artwork wouldn't grab them, but it did. The vocabulary was basic, but things they knew and could point to in the pictures. I turned this into a dialogue book because I found the sentences weren't enough. But even a month after we finished our work on this book, 2 of my students were still carying this in their book bags every day because they loved this book so much! |

| Let me start by saying that I am a HUGE Dr. Seuss fan. We have almost all of his books and love reading them. I bought this one as a Christmas gift for my 2 year old son and we were so excited to read it. The story starts out super cute with a moose that has uninvited guests in his horns. But the ending is disgusting. The guests all end up stuffed up on a wall. The last picture is of the animals mounted on a wall with little Xs for their eyes. | This different view of the Vietnam War is filled with adventure, the danger, and the hardwork on the part of a young soldier and a German Shepard. The author's method of telling the story from two points of view adds to the knowledge of the war experience.
