| This is an excellent book for a 3+ year old child. My grandson loved it. I had to read this book to him (he asked for it by name) every night for a week; sometimes he asked that I read it to him two times in a row.
He now knows what a Lunar Lander is and he knows there is no gravity in space. I highly recommend this book. Eugene |

| Shel Silverstein's poems are always truly a delight. Some of the collections, however, contain poems that are not quite appropriate for the very youngest listeners. A Giraffe and a Half IS targeted at the youngest audiences.
As the poem goes on, the titular giraffe is exposed to a more riotously funny situation on every page (a rose on his nose, glue on his shoe, etc.) My kids were laughing hard, and completing the rhyming phrases by the time the tired (and ludicrously attired) giraffe is rescued ... Read More: |

| I have to admit, I really didn't think my kiddo would go for this book. We checked it out from the library and when I started to read it I thought there would be absolutely no response. Boy was I wrong! Everytime I got to the turkey wearing the wrong thing and said "OOPS!" she burst into giggles. My little one doesn't laugh easily, so I ran out and bought the book for our own at-home library. Not my favorite Boyton book, but it makes my 15 month old laugh, so we read it everyday. |

| I really like this book. I got if for my 2 year old to get her familiar with Christmas. Last year she had just turned 1 and had no idea what was going on other than she got to rip a lot paper. It is basically a parody of Jingle Bells and we sing it almost every night as it is one of her top 3 books right now. |

| More than anything else, this Morris story helped ease the fears my two sons, now ages 6 and 4, had about starting school. With a childlike innocence, Morris makes simple errors that cause a bit of giggling in the classroom. However, the teacher's gentle direction keeps the other children laughing with Morris instead of laughing at him.

| This is one of my favorites of Ms. Funk's works. She brings the tone of severity down a notch for a fantasy that is adorable and kid-friendly, but still containing all the right ingredients for one exciting story. Maybe it's a little cliche, but it's the classic story we all like: nice dragons fighting against evil monsters with great, quirky characters and mystery and intrigue. Funk even goes a little high fantasy with good ol' fashioned prophecies and ideas.
