| This is a fantastic book. I have the softcover edition. We got this because we were talking about Thomas Edison and reading the Edison Childhoods of Famous Americans book. This is an excellent tie-in, and so much more.

| I found a copy of this book in a hospital x-ray waiting area. I could have spent hours poring over it. The cross-sections include a castle, a space shuttle, an observatory, a subway, a cathedral, and more. We see so little of what is around us and this book offers a hugely expanded view. It's like being used to seeing the tip of the iceberg and suddenly seeing the whole iceberg. Like the previous reviewer, I wondered also why only males were shown using the toilet facilities. | my 7 year old son and I have really enjoyed reading this series. Fortunately we started on the 5th book instead of the the first 4 in the series which simply just aren't as interesting for the most part as the books 5 through 17. I love that the story line is peppered with scientific facts, and that the author gives recommendations of further reading at the end of the books. | This book only sounds good in the plot review. In truth, it is an absolutely horribly written book with plot twists that are so predictable and cookie cutter characters. There is hardly any real worth to reading this book, which is dissappointing because the idea behind it is very interesting, although not original. |

| What a beautiful story. A little girl finds and saves a tiny "worm" from a hungry Jay. She takes the caterpillar to her grandfather, who then helps her build a butterfly box. They decorate it together, and eventually, when the butterfly breaks out of its cocoon and becomes a beautiful butterfly, they let it go back into the wild, their garden.
