| I have no qaulms about admitting that I am a hopeless romantic. I'm also the type of person that likes pretty landscapes, good old fashioned values, and all the light and love inbetween. These books really hit the spot, and the first few of this collection are divine.

| I had to read this book for school, and I didn't like it at all. I didn't even finish it! This is not a good book. DO NOT read it. I don't know how many times I fell asleap while reading. My brother had to wake me up several times. I read all the time, and have finished the 800 page books in about one or two days. This book took me like 2 months. This is the boringist book I have ever read. |

| I loved this book when I was a little girl. I read it at least four times. I would suggest this book to any young girl with a love of History, or reading. |

| I wanted to make this high level book available to my fifth graders who are studying the Civil War, but was concerned about the dialect being difficult for some of them to read. I purchased books for each student and then purchased the CD so they could follow along as the professionally recorded CD played enabling them to understand the "foreign" words. | Of all the pirate books out there this is by far the funniest one. Short questions top each page (Do pirates take baths?) and brief but funny explanations follow. Be sure to examine the illustrations-some of the book's funniest moments are wordless. This is a book you and your children will enjoy equally, and will definitly read many times over. |

| This is my favorite of the Laura Ingalls Wilder's Little House books. In most of the others, the Ingalls family is fairly isolated, trying to make it on its own. In this one, as in Little Town on the Prairie, we see the Ingalls interacting with a wider range of people. We also spend more time with Almanzo and Royal Wilder.
The Long Winter deals with a period of multiple blizzards, which leads to food shortages as the railroads are unable to continue running. It's interesting to see the ways the family develops to have ... Read More: |

| Yes, I am 30 years old, but I love this series. It captivates the mind and transports you back to times where people survived in Clans like nomads after the ice age. It is a good book for children as long as the magic mentioned is explained, and described as not real. Otherwise, with technology today, kids might start looking into 'craft books'.
