| These CDs are amazing!! I use the Magic Tree House audio books during rest time, with my Preschoolers and Kindergarteners. They love them and I love the educational information that is interwoven into each story. They especially liked #38. My students have learned so much just from listening to these books! |

| I read this in hight school, and yes it was an assignment,(fortunately my literature always made us think about the books we read instead of gripe about them in ignorance) but I loved it. Basically, it pulls no punches, sugarcoats nothing. The author is telling it like he knows it from being there - war is hell, no matter what it's fought for, no matter whose side you're on. | Carnival at Candlelight is an awesome book. It takes place in Venice, Italy, 260 years ago on the night of the annual Carnival celebration. It starts out when Jack and Annie recieve a note from Merlin that says they have to save the Grand Lady of the Lagoon from a terrible disaster!

| Speare gives a realistic picture of the edgy but generally humane interactions between the Native Americans and the European settlers. SOTB is unstintingly honest but not depressingly so, and is interesting in its description of life in those days. And it gives many interesting details about life as lived in earlier and simpler times. I enjoyed reading it to my kids and they seemed to enjoy it too. Recommended. |

| As a young child in grade school this was one of the first books I read. I loved the book to read about four children,their adventures and making it on their own. I looked for a long time to purchase the book and one day I thought I would give amazon a try. When I saw the book and the price and upon receiving the book it was in fantastic condition. Now my grandchildren can relive the same adventure I did.

| I would give this book, Esperanza Rising by Pam Munoz Ryan, four stars. The author describes everything really realistic and fun, making you feel like you're watching TV. All the characters are realistic in their characteristics. Only the bad thing is the ending I think. I think the ending happened too suddenly. That's the only reason I took one star out. It's really a good book though.
