| I didn't immediately fall in love with this book. The problem is that Book #1 mainly sets up the whole story but real action is not taken until book #2, Rebel Angels. Just hold on, the last 2 books are wonderful! |

| I read this book years ago and it has stayed with me ever since.
Originally published in 1931, it won the Pulitzer prize the following year. The setting is in China, right before the revolution. Wang Lung is a poor farmer in a village and the book starts with his wedding to plain O-lan. They have four children together, three boys and one girl. | This is a great book for kids who enjoy interactive creative reads. The extras are always nice to accompany these books. The Egyptology book was snapped up by my students and they loved it. It was quite enjoyable to them and they read more than they often do in books. The big eye was really interesting to them. |

| This book was my favorite in the Gemma Doyle trilogy. The plot twists and character development make this particular book a real winner for me. Gemma really starts to grow into herself in this book and she learns a lot more about the people in her life. Ballroom scenes juxtaposed with Gemma's magical world in the realms create create tension in Gemma's life as she learns how to deal with these different sides of herself. If you enjoy romance, magic, and adventure in a victorian setting you will love this book. |
