I ordered multiple copies of this book before I read it and now I am sorry I did. Although the book captures bullying at its worst, I must say I was disappointed that there was no resolution to the pain and suffering Linda experienced at the hands of her classmates. I found it unrealistic for Linda to then join Wendy in tormenting other students. As for Jill, the tables were turned on her, but she never truly understood the pain she also caused Linda. There were never any apologies or consequences ... Read More:

Books : Henry Huggins (50th Anniversary Edition: Includes an Interview with the Author)
Henry Huggins, Written by Beverly Cleary, is a book about a dog and a boy.
Henry finds a dog and he wants to keep it. So he brought it home. He washed it and called it Ribsy. He was so skinny you could see his ribs. That's why Henry called him Ribsy.
What I liked about liked about this book is that Henry and Ribsy were best friends. Also that this story is about a dog and a boy. Each chapter is different and different things happen.
The author's message ... Read More:

This is a very cute book for kids who are just beginning to learn to read. It is a bit challenging and gives them the satisfaction of reading a "big kids'" book. My granddaughter is enjoying it now and will enjoy it for several years, I'm sure.

Books : Love That Dog
I read this once before, loved it then, love it now. It's definitely not the best of Sharon Creech (and if you're interested in that, definitely check out Absolutely Normal Chaos), but it's really good writing. The one thing that bothers me though is the boy's voice. His actions are those of a little boy, as are his emotions, but his words...they make me wonder. Is there any chance he has a mental disorder? I don't know any children who think/speak like that. They're enthusiastic, sure, but this is a bit...odd. I wish I knew this ... Read More:

I liked ballet shoes so since this was the sequil I wanted to read it and was disapointed. It's not as funny and there's not as many crazy adventures as the first. It also has lots of flaws that the first didn't have. But read the third shoe book called dancing shoes way better than even the first one!

In which the Baudelaires are again totally on their own (whither Mr. Poe?) within easy reach of Count Olaf at the titular carnival. The intensity is building, and the events seem to be escalating in number and unfortune.

Books : The Secret Garden (Everyman's Library Children's Classics on Audio)
The story of a 'frightful little girl', whose point of view changes as she discovers the secrets of her new surroundings.
A well-written story at times, but it definitely had its draggy moments. It seemed to promise more than it delivered(I expected more of a fantasy tale, along the lines of 'The Chronicles of Narnia'.)
The characters were well-developed, though Colin kind of took over what had been 'Mary's story' toward the end.
Perhaps not the best 'classic children's lit' out there, but it shows how life was at the time it was written, and it's ... Read More:
