| This is the original Rainbow Fish story which is a simple moral tale designed for very young children. The Rainbow Fish is beautiful, but arrogant and selfish. He has to learn that superficial qualities such as beauty and wealth cannot be valued over friendship and happiness.

| Fever, 1793 was an accidental find. It is a totally intriguing book about the malaria epidemic in Philadelphia. It is historically accurate and the author cites her sources at the end of the book so they don't interfere with the adventure. This is a young girl's story of survival when the fever strikes her home. She deals with death, looters, and economic survival in a community ruled by fear. | This is the first of Sarah Dessen's that I've read, and I'll definitely be reading more of her books in the future. I REALLY liked the style of the book, the way she wrote these characters, and the story here. I mean, this woman knows how to write teens in a way that many authors do not. Every word was just so completely real. | This is possibly the best book in the entire series, in my opinion. Maybe it's the fact that I'm a water baby. Or maybe I'm a sucker for geeky people. Or maybe I just think the mystery, drama, and humor in this one was excellent! Whatever the reason, this was a series highlight for me.

| Life in the 1800's in the woods sure is different than it is here. I bet if that family ever came here they would be amazed. Heck, if I ever had to shoot guns or collect sap from trees I would fall asleep during it. Pa is my favorite character. He goes into town to get supplies and hunts at night what about those stories? My favorite part is when Pa is alone in the woods at night and he thinks he sees a bear but it is really a tree.
