| My sister and I LOVED this book when we were younger. The pictures are so captivating, and as a child I remember loving the secret passage ways and rooms the little bears found. It may be a bit too scary for very young children, but this book is truly one of my childhood favorites! |

| When I ordered this advent calendar I presumed it was like most of the ones I have purchased in the past. That is when you open each window there is a chocolate treat for each day. Much to my disappointment this calendar only has cheezy little cartoon pictures behind each door. Save your money and don't buy this one folks... |

| This struck me as "Corduroy for the 21st century". I love the original Corduroy books, and this one just has none of the feel of those, either in terms of narrative or in terms of illustration. Corduroy and his 4 silly animal friends do not interract with humans, but exist in some blissful upper middle class suburbia and participate only in gift giving as the meaning of the holiday. | My wife and I enjoyed reading this book to our kids, 4 and 6. They laughed out loud at the picture of the pink bath bubbles getting out of hand. The story also sends a good message for families--try to see things from the other family members' point of view and try to have some sympathy for them. The fact that Mama and Papa Bear get so tired that they fall asleep while trying to put their cubs to bed is very cute and true to life.
