| Tell you the truth, though, I really am not a fan of the paperbacks. I find them too long, too wordy, and, really, too moralistic.
My nieces adore them, though, so I added a star for that, and I keep buying them. (I'm a sucker, really.) This is a great example of the books. New cub moves into the neighborhood, Sister and Lizzy become fast friends (and why does everybody in this series get a real name except for the main characters?), they fight over something silly, and eventually ... | "Corduroy 40th Anniversary Ed." is such a cute story for children. The 40th Anniversary edition is special because it includes copies of the author's sketches as well as his notes and revisions. Some are in envelopes; others are folded over. It is quite cleverly done. |

| My four year old son is in love with this chapter series! A friend suggested it to us since he seemed ready for a more advanced reading material at bedtime. My husband reads him a chapter every night...sometimes more because they don't want to stop. It's become a great tradition for them, and something they both look forward to. We love that there are so many in the collection! Start with number 1 and just continue. :) |

| My wife bought this book to read to our foster children. It has turned out to be our favorite book of all time for our kids! The words and meaning are so touching and true, very heartfelt. And the drawings are the most precious and endearing. They are just as great as the storyline. The most precious book for the most precious children! Every child should have one! |

| My daugther has several of the Berenstain Bear books and she loves reading them. They have a positive message for children while keeping their attention. Even though she reads at a higher level, she still loves these books. |

| this was our first book purchase for our baby who's due in four months. purchased on a whim at our local book shop and later discovered the author was local at one time, too. i love the colors, the illustrations, and even the textures of the embossed dust jacket. i am absolutely smitten and inspired and look forward to "reading" this story over and over, as well as buying the book as a gift for my friends' and family. |

| This is one of those luminous children's books that should inform every child'd upbringing. If only it did. The illustrations are gorgeous, the message is whimsical and child-centered, the pleasure for adults is profound. |

| I think this was a darling story. My 6 year old son loved it. I can't get over all the reviewers that make such a huge deal about the spanking reference. Get a grip! Frances is obviously a secure child and was being manipulative in getting up. Her father was very gentle with her. I agree with the person that thinks that what the anti-spankers can't get over is the fact that you can be a kind, gentle parent and still give a spanking.
