I was a Corduroy fan as a child. It is exciting to see my child reading the same books that I had back 30 years ago. She loves these books. This is an exact reprint of one I had as a child. We highly recommend it as we do all in this series. My 28 month old is obsessed with Corduroy and his friend Lisa. A great gift for a child ages 2-6.

I bought this book for my 2-year-old son after seeing it at a friends house. It is very sweet, touching and has such cute illustrations. It's a big part of our bedtime ritual and my son loves to hear it read. Defintately a top five book (and trust me, we have read many)! This will be part of our reading repetoire for years--and children--to come!

That was my two-year-old daughter doing her own typing. Now I will transcribe her review of this book:

"I like this book. This a best book. Funny bear. Colors on him."

My four year old son has started collecting these books, and it's been a real treasure to read them to him because they bring back memories from my own childhood. He loves the stories just as much as I do. We especially love reading the little poems on the first page of each book! Each book teaches a different lesson. I love using them as examples of what not to do and also as positive reinforcement for my children.

Mark Andersen leads quite a lonely existence in the Alaskan wilderness, where he lives with his mother and father. Things wouldn't be so lonely if his older brother was still around, but since his death, Mark has been devoid of contact with anyone even close in age to him. Due in large part to the fact that he's the smallest boy at school - at least for his age - and risks injury if he plays with the stronger boys, so he keeps to himself. That is, until he discovers a friend named Ben. Ben isn't your average friend. He's ... Read More:

We read this book constantly. It has been a great way to teach my 28 month old not to be afraid of going to the doctor and getting shots, etc. It has really worked for us. I think because she loves Corduroy so much she can relate. It is a great book.

This book is wonderful! Both of my children (3 and 5 years) love it. The text, while not rhyming, is poetic. I think what makes this story so charming is that it isn't trying to drive a message home. Instead it's just about a Mama bear and her little one spending time together. Read quietly, this book is a wonderful bedtime story!

This book was a joy to me.
A bear named Henry has made a bet with his friend about the best way to get to Fitchburg. Henry, who begins to seem a lot like Henry David Thoreau walks while his friend earns money to take the train. His friend hires on with various families whose names are those of the American Transcendentalist: Alcott, Hawthorne, Emerson.
Henry walks and observes natures. His experience is the journey, while his friend toils for the goal.
The book is beautifully illustrated, well-told and thought ... Read More:
