| This book is eye-opening! I have been an avid fan of Harry Potter for years with many reads of the entire series under my belt. I teach a Harry Potter class to elementary & middle school aged kids in the summer (which is why I bought this book). It is so much fun to realize how deep the HP universe really is! I can't wait for volumes 2 & 3 to come out.

| Easy to read, my kindergartener knew most of the words and was able to read it to me! Great for the transition from kindergarten to first grade. |

| I thought it was pretty good. I guess its hard for me to get into the whole batman vs the mafia(godfather) story in both novels, but it was written so well I was addicted and flew through them.
The only complaint I could have would be that the "freaks" parts fell short. I know that we all know about their back stories and if they went deeper into the freaks it would be like retelling what we all know already, but isn't that what we all love? | This is the introduction to a great Batman story. If you've read Loeb's previous work then you'd know he's worked on stories involving Batman's early career. After reading Dark Victory this feels more or less like an indirect sequel to that story. This is definitely the same Batman, but he's far more experienced now, and much more sure of himself (until he falls in love...or does he?) Anyway. Pick up part one, and part two. You won't regret it! |
