| The design and content of this book is very well-done. However, the problem (a big one) is the construction. The paper used for the pages is quite flimsy. My 18-month old daughter was able to rip the pages with ease due to the cut-out design of the pages.
I would have easily given this a 5-star rating if not for the poor choice in paper. Definitely consider this carefully if buying for younger children. |

| My mother had this book when I was a little girl and I always wanted her to read it to us every Christmas time. I just love the illustrations! And even at a very young age, I would want her to read the authors note at the end that talks about all the symbolism in the pictures. When I got older I would read it to myself on Christmas Eve before going to bed. It is such a beautiful book! | This book is part of the curriculum for 3 year-old children at private Carden schools, along with Good Night Moon. Both are Classics and belong in every child's library. The pictures, although sketches, look like the real animals, which is a plus compared to many cartoons, and the premise Disney's more modern Baby Einstein is based on too. | Such a cute little book! Arnold Lobel is a fantastic author and illustrator, and this is practically in the lines of farm classics as "Charlotte's Web" on a smaller scale. Very cute, and you can't help but love the big and his owners. |

| One of my favorite books of all time. The story about freindship and loyalty is so wonderful. If a spider and a pig can get along, why can't we humans all get along? A "feel good" book (though sad at times) if I ever read one. |
