| An Honor Book for 2005, "Whittington" is, at the very least, worthy of this placement. (The 2005 Newbery Award Book is "Kira-Kira," a book I have not read and cannot make a comparative judgment.)

| bought this for my 23 mo old son. Loves dump trucks so this is a perfect pick. Recommend to all children who love cars and trucks. Just a happy story! |

| I read this to our son, sadly, after he "out grew" these books, they were passed on. Happily, after searching all over I found these treasures on Amazon and now have a new collection for our beautiful grand daughter to enjoy. |

| Liked the book, nice illustrations. the story reads as a condensed version with lots of "in-betweens" left out. Overall it's an okay book. I believe any book is worth having when you can either read to or have a child read with you. i would purchase it just for the fact that it is worth the quality time you will get when sitting with your child,or grandchild, etc... to read. |

| There are 4 or 5 books in the Mercy Watson series now, all wonderful. My girls, 5 and 3, want me to read them to them every night. You can't go wrong. |

| I think this is a great book, I loved it as a child and now my children love it too! Gregory is a goat who doesn't want to eat garbage like the other goats he wants to eat healthy human food! His parents talk him into trying "something new" and he discovers he DOES like it (the garbage)! It's good in explaining to kids to try something new and not dislike something just because of how it looks or sounds. |

| I'm a mom of two sets of twins, and this is the favorite book of all four kids as well as my favorite kids' book! It is downright hilarious in a way both kids and adults can appreciate. There is NO children's book I would recommend more highly! |
